Jorge B. Hernandez is a photojournalist currently attending Long Beach State University.
Hernandez has been residing in Long Beach since his birth knowing the community and the
people today. He has taken photographs since he was 10 inspired to capture street photography
with an artistic vision of capturing emotions and using photography as his voice shooting
interesting moments and the changes of memories of his past and photograph events and his
favorite district of Little Tokyo. He started learning journalism in 2019 at Long Beach City
College capturing several protests, political rallies, and special events that captured the moments
through the County. His milestone was capturing the 46th President Joe Biden during the recall
rally in September of 2022 and capturing Kendrick Lamar’s taping of the music video “Not Like
Us” His goal is to become a potential Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist for any available
publication or website to provide them photo stories to provide readers an immersive experience
unlike any other. His other goal is to travel to New York to explore and capture the city that
never sleeps and meet the people who make the city thrive.
